阴暗的图书馆里渐渐地被人们遗忘了，死去了，只有在读历史的小学生的幻想中，它们有时暂时苏醒了片刻。卡通画的价值，为什么比陈列在精美展览会博物院里的古典的杰作伟大呢？就是因为它是属于广大的热情的群众的。它能够把那些死去了的伟大的故事重新活生生地带到群众面前。一个好的历史卡通必须使读过历史的与未读过历史的人全懂得，而且必须引起他们的兴趣。将来，当卡通画达到它艺术的顶峰的时候，现在的这种滑稽的神话式的卡通并不会消灭，可是它只能在整个的卡通界中占着小小的一席地，聊备一格而已。

我真是高兴，当我幻想到未来，连大世界、天韵楼都放映着美丽的艺术的结晶科学卡通。历史卡通，文学卡通的时候。

也许有人会怀疑。然而，不看见电影的榜样吗？电影在新发明时代，不是同样被认为是引儿童发笑的东西吗？然而现在有些影片的严肃的态度却可以做学校里课本的补助品了，并且有些电影的艺术价值是公认为足以永垂不朽的。卡通的价值决不在电影之下。如果电影是文学的小妹妹，那么卡通便是二十世纪女神新赐予文艺的另一个玉雪可爱的小妹妹了。我们应当用全力去培植她，给人类的艺术发达史上再添上灿烂光明的一页。
